From Here to There: Recent Works by Rosie Burns
Harbour House welcomes well travelled artist Rosie Burns back to Kingsbridge for her fourth solo exhibition at the gallery.
Rosie's eclectic exhibition, titled From Here to There, opens on Tuesday 7 July.
The collection of recent works includes examples of her drawings, vivid paintings in watercolour and oils inspired by her travels worldwide, printmaking and wood carving. Also on show will be a range of ceramic pots, bowls and animal scultpures, making use of the new lustre glazes that Rosie discovered when travelling in Egypt. She describes herself as an obsessive creative, a constant collector and gatherer of visual information which feeds continously into her varied body of art work.
Rosie will explain more about her work, her inspiration and her travels in a gallery talk at 11 am on Saturday 11 July. Everybody is welcome to this informal event, and admission is free.
Before relocating from Salcombe to North Devon, Rosie ran the popular children's art club at Harbour House. She has now established herself as an active member of her new local arts community, joining three artists' co-operatives as well as showing her work and running a workshop at the renowned Appledore Visual Arts Festival. She is also involved with North Devon Arts and The Plough Arts Centre at Great Torrington, and will be taking part in this year's North Devon Art Trek in June.
From Here to There features a diverse range of art works by Rosie Burns, and opens at Harbour House in Kingsbridge on Tuesday 7 July. Opening times will be 10 am - 5 pm until the close of the show on Sunday 19 July. There will be an informal gallery talk with the artist at 11 am on Saturday 11 July. Admission is free.
