The Galerie Epikur was founded in 1979 in Wuppertal with the idea to present contemporary art of both young and well-known artists from Germany and abroad. At almost every exhibition, we publish catalogues from our own production as well as edition prints and multiples. The gallery has a special focus on art informel and on abstract art and is also fostering contemporary tendencies of figurative and realistic art. Painting and works on paper are at the core of our program, and yet also photography and site-specific installations are part of our scheme. Moreover, we present abstract and figurative sculpture intended for both indoor and outdoor display. Our exhibition program is supplemented by a wide variety of cultural events and artist-in-residences. By regularly attending important art fairs, we are able to present our program to an international audience.
