DAN BALDWIN Print

Eyestorm exclusive limited edition print, The Future Frontline Renegades of Dead London by acclaimed artist Dan Baldwin

Large in scale at 1m x 1m in size, and in an extremely low edition of just 15, this striking new print is what Eyestorm, in collaboration with Dan Baldwin, felt the art world currently needs following the mass production of high edition prints over the past couple of years.

Eyestorm creative director Angie Davey said: “We wanted to bring back the 'unique' element that can be applied to printmaking, achieved here by Dan hand-finishing each piece, so they become more like one-off works than limited edition prints.”

About Dan Baldwin

Dan Baldwin’s work deals with ideas of love, innocence, life and death, politics and symbolism. Often incorporating real objects such as foreign currency, crucifixes and bullets into his work, as well as different types of paint and other materials, he creates a ‘layering’ system that encourages an element of spontaneity and chance into his work, never initially planning how a work will eventually turn out.

Born in Manchester in 1972, Baldwin graduated from Maidstone school of art in 1995 and since then has exhibited widely in the U.K alongside artists such as Banksy, Antony Micallef, Jamie Hewlett, Jamie Reid and Peter Blake, and has shown at art fairs in Miami, New York and Basel. His work has appeared in many publications such as Vogue, Elle, Time Out, Modern Painters and Dazed and Confused, and he has been commissioned to create book & album covers for Overlook Publishers and Wall of Sound. In 2005 he appeared in the first series of The Apprentice through Eyestorm, and in September 2006 was voted critics choice on the Saatchi gallery /your gallery website by ex-Art Review editor Rebecca Wilson. In early 2008, his painting The End of Everything went in an Urban Art sale at Bonhams for £25,000 and the price of his work escalated. Collectors include Elton John, Damien Hirst, Liam Howlett from The Prodigy and actress Patsy Palmer. After being based in Brighton for many years, he now lives and works in Sussex.
