Porthminster Gallery is one of St Ives’ principal art galleries, with stunning views over the picturesque bay and harbour.
Staffed by a knowledgeable and friendly team, this progressive contemporary gallery hosts a distinctive exhibition programme of well-curated quarterly selling shows and ongoing collections of original collectable and investment artworks.
Showing leading and emerging St Ives and south-west artists, the gallery’s permanent artists include: Matthew Lanyon, Chris Hankey, Tony Scrivener, Carole McDowall and Vincent Wilson. The gallery has also gained the reputation for being the first in St Ives to regularly show respected British and International artists not previously exhibited in Cornwall, including: Tim Morrison, Freya Horsley, Brian Plummer and Adrian Parnell.
Along with some of the best contemporary ceramics, Porthminster Gallery also shows sculpture for indoors and outside by International names, including: Margaret Lovell RWA FRBS and Michael Lyons FRBS.
Open Mon – Sat 11am – 5pm (Apr – Oct).
