New Art & Fitness Together Venue in Montecito

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Wednesday, August 16, 5:30–7:00 PM

The newest branch of the largest personal training organization opened its doors in Montecito in July 2008. Nissa
Gay, a local entrepreneur and fitness instructor, is ready to show off the place at 1225 Coast Village Road, Suite C, Olive Mill Plaza, during a special Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting event.

"We hope to see a lot of the business owners and their employees at our place on Wednesday, August 13th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM,” explained Nissa. “Everyone is welcome. After a year of planning and dreaming, our business is open and offering a different approach to personal fitness for the area. We are anxious for people to see for themselves.”

The event takes place in the newly renovated building of the office/retail complex at Olive Mill Plaza. Guests will find Fitness Together Montecito by entering the main parking lot off Coast Village Road or Coast Village Circle.

“We are especially excited that ARTAMO GALLERY in Santa Barbara has extended its collection of contemporary art to include the walls in our new space,” says Nissa. “It is an extra, distinctive touch that we believe creates a more comforting environment for our clients. It sets us apart from typical gyms. That, and the crowds and the smell…”

Jack N. Mohr, artist and director of ARTAMO GALLERY, says that he is very happy with the new cooperation and the opportunity to present the work of the gallery’s outstanding artists to a wider audience: “The foyer of Fitness Together is a perfect place to show how contemporary art can work in different environments, how it can enhance a space — even where one at first wouldn’t expect any kind of art.”

ARTAMO GALLERY plans to rotate the work every few months and to install other interesting solo or group exhibitions in the time to come. All artwork on display is for sale and can be acquired either from the gallery at 11 West Anapamu Street, Santa Barbara, or direct at the studio location in Montecito.

The first show running through September 2008 will be juxtaposing the rhythmic spectrum paintings by Patrick Dintino with the sensitive style of movement by Julia Pinkham — both themes a good match to rhythm and movement of personal fitness training.
