Claudia Rogge's latest series "isolation" consistently links with her former works
from the Rapport and UNIFORM series developed between 2004 and 2007.
The show is focused on the so called "foam pictures", which depict once more the
artist's examination of the topics society, individual, and masses.
People are mingling with the crowd, and yet each one of them is on their own. The
foam symbolises both adjacencies and isolation of the individual. The bubbles'
fragile texture implies transience, dashed hopes and, eventually, the finite
existence. The foam series evokes images of a fun society enjoying themselves at
foam parties as well as the daily news that refer to consistently bursting bubbles.
At the opening of the exhibition on March 6th, 2009, the visitor will be part of a
foam installation.
Additionally, the exhibition will show works from the mask series. All of the
depicted people are wearing masks. They apparently turn towards each other and
interact, but at the same time they seem to be imprisoned in their masks and
isolated from the outside world. The question is, wether or not they show their
inner self or just play a role. Undetected, they act according to certain patterns
and rules.
Exhibiton date: March 6 - April 18, 2009
From May 19 to June 28, 2009, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) will
show a cross section from Claudia Rogge's work in a solo exhibition.

Segment 8: die Blasen der Gesellschaft
„isolation“ nennt Claudia Rogge ihren aktuellen Werkzyklus, der sich konsequent
an die in den Jahren 2004 bis 2007 entstandenen Arbeiten der RAPPORT- und
UNIFORM Serien anschließt.
Im Zentrum der Ausstellung befinden sich die sogenannten Schaumbilder, die eine
weitere Auseinandersetzung mit dem Themenkomplex
Gesellschaft/Individuum/Masse darstellen. Menschen befinden sich im „Bad in der
Menge“ und doch ist jeder für sich. Der Schaum symbolisiert hier sowohl
Nachbarschaft als auch Isolation der Individuen. Die fragile Stofflichkeit des
Schaums impliziert darüber hinaus die Vergänglichkeit, das Zerplatzen von
Hoffnungen, Träumen und letztendlich auch des Seins. Bilder einer
Spaßgesellschaft auf Schaumpartys drängen sich dabei ebenso auf, wie die dazu
im Kontrast stehenden, täglich neu überbrachten Hiobs-Botschaften ständig neuer
zerplatzter Blasen. Zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung am 6. März 2009 wird der
Ausstellungsbesucher selbst Teil einer Schauminstallation.
Weiterer Bestandteil der Ausstellung sind Arbeiten aus der Maskenserie von
Claudia Rogge. Die hier dargestellten Figuren sind als Rollenträger sämtlich
maskiert. Sie befinden sich äußerlich in einem zugewandten Miteinander und
dennoch erscheint jedes Individuum von dem anderen isoliert. Motiv ist die Frage
nach dem tatsächlichen „Ich“ und den gespielten Rollen gegenüber Dritten.
Unentlarvt agieren die Einzelnen nach bestimmten Mustern, bei bestimmten
Ereignissen in einem kreierten Ensemble.
Ausstellungsdauer: 06.03. – 18.04.2009
Vom 19.Mai bis zum 28. Juni 2009 zeigt das Moscow Museum of Modern Art
(MMOMA) in einer umfangreichen Einzelausstellung einen Querschnitt der
Arbeiten von Claudia Rogge aus den vergangenen 5 Jahren.
